This Month's Events January 11: Ballroom Basics. Learn the basic steps for great dances such as the waltz, fox trot, samba, and jive. Each class is 90 minutes long, and the 8-week program costs $120 (plus tax) per couple. Beginners and seasoned dancers welcome. January 11: Traditional Belly Dance for adults starts Wednesday January 11, 6:30-7pm for beginners and 8:15-9:15pm for intermediate dancers. Belly Dance provides a good cardio-vascular workout, increasing both flexibility and strength by focusing on the core muscles; veil work builds arm, shoulder, and general upper-body strength. Cost is $90 (plus tax) for 9 weeks. January 14: Jamila Dance (Belly Dance) for ages 6-13, 10-11am. Cost is $90 for 9 weeks. March 28, 3 pm: Registration deadline for 2012 Peace River South Festival of the Arts. Sponsored in part by Telus. |
